It was a warm day considering it was the first of December. So warm, she didn’t consider wearing a coat to work.
At closing time, Lisa and her co-workers were turning off the lights when a man walked in and asked which one of them was the girlfriend of Michael. Of course anyone would be hesitant to answer the question when as stranger is asking, so Lisa quietly acknowledged that it would be she. The man told Lisa that her presence had been requested, and she needed to leave with him.
In her mind she was not going anywhere with anyone, but after subtle encouragement from her friends at work (who apparently knew what was happening) she was escorted to a car where there was a bottle of champagne and one flute. A secret 30 minute drive revealed she had arrived at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and when Lisa stepped out of the car she found herself in front of not only the Robert Indiana LOVE sculpture, but also her romantically inclined boyfriend, Michael, who happened to be holding the second flute of champagne.
Professing his love on bended knee, he asked Lisa to marry him. And without a coat on, she never even felt it begin to rain.
