Our photo shoot with Susanna was so much fun...before the shoot I was feeling very self-conscious, and my daughter can be shy, but Susanna put us at ease and everything felt so natural. My daughter went into 'model model' and was striking poses like I'd never seen before! Even my husband, who rarely smiles in photos looked happy and relaxed in all of them. We were so pleased--with the shoot and the results. I have recommended Susanna to everyone I know and I will continue to do so.
Friends who've seen the photos on Facebook have raved about them as well (I think Susanna actually made us look better than we do in real life!) She is very accessible--always returning phone calls and emails quickly. When my husband and I got engaged, I knew that a great wedding photographer was very important to us. A friend of mine had gotten married a couple of years prior to my engagement and immediately recommended her photographer, Susanna Tanner. I had seen her wedding pictures, and they were very beautiful. I decided to go hire Susanna without interviewing any other photographers. That turned out to be the best decision I ever made regarding the wedding. Her style and technique allowed my husband and I to relax and let her do her thing. The posed photos were beautiful along with the spontaneous shots. I also loved how she brought the setting of our wedding into the photos artistically, and the photos looked like they could be a painting. Her ability to capture the day in a way that told the story of our wedding is what I cherish the most, and I go back and look at those photos over and over again. The relationship with Susanna has led to her photographing our baby at 6 months and then again for her first birthday. I know that if we want unique, artistic, memorable photos, Susanna is always going to be our choice!

We could have chosen from lots of photographers in our area to do our son’s senior pictures, but we knew we wanted them to be creative, artistic and to tell his story. We wanted her to capture his passions. That is exactly what we got with Susanna. We wanted Conner’s personality to come out in the pictures and for them to be what he loves in life. Susanna was very helpful in suggesting certain areas for his pictures, but let him choose what he was comfortable with.

Susanna tries to understand her clients’ preferences and then uses that understanding to create images that surpass her clients’ expectations. She guides you using her professional eye, so that you end up with images that you’ll love, but doesn’t pressure you or dominate the mood of your wedding day. Susanna allowed us to do what was important to us and didn’t take away from the interactions we had with family & friends; she went with the flow and made gentle suggestions when necessary...something I really appreciated about her, along with being comfortable with her (the photographer is there during all of the special moments!).
One of our favorite things was our wedding book that Susanna put together. We chose a hardback coffee table book, which we love and look at frequently. Susanna incorporated our favorite images into her layout. then sent us proofs, which we were able to comment on until we had exactly what we envisioned. Susanna was so flexible – she probably would have allowed 10 rounds of comments to make us happy!

I had the best experience with Susanna Tanner Photography for my senior pictures. I wasn't completely sure what I wanted out of my senior pictures, just a vague idea of where I wanted to shoot the pictures. Susanna was so patient with me and gave me many other options until I figured out exactly what I wanted.
Throughout the actual shoot I was nervous and felt kind of awkward getting my picture taken so many times but Susanna seemed to sense when I felt awkward and gave me encouragement and wonderful direction.
After the shoot, viewing and picking the pictures we wanted to purchase was fast and simple. The pictures turned out great and I was so happy I could involve my family in the pictures. The whole process was a success and my family and I could not of been any happier.
